Means that security on something has been triggered. The razor blades, for say the Gillette or Schick brands is used by a machine dispenser in the razor blade aisle. Once you get the blades, the telecom goes off….
When a major ticket items, such as the razor blades is removed from a shelf, a security alert is issued.
It means one of the employees saw someone who they think might be trying to shoplift. It helps in two ways:
1. It puts other employees and managers on the alert to keep an eye out.
2. In most cases, if the person was going to shoplift, it deters them knowing that the store is watching.
Sometimes we just announced it randomly just in case.
