dear msians, what emergency tel.numbers do u have in ur wallet?
police, ambulance, telcoms like maxis/digi, cabs service, 103 telecom directory, astro, indah water, TNB, JBA…
anymore?
i got a loan sharks company card, its very cool, it has a picture of a sexy gal, and all the emergency numbers. i kept it for 4 years untill now. its really a good marketing strategy. i guess the loan shark tel.number somehow tells me that its also an emergency number
Bunny: dont u have any emergency number? Vulgargal’s emergency numbers are great suggestions
yeah, im better, thanx, orchid, muakkks
anderson: yeah ohh !! 103 is just enough !! but hey, sometimes we have to wait wait wait for the 103 staff to listen ur calls, and sometimes they slam the phone just immediately they listen ur call, and u cant make any complain, coz u dont even get a chance to know them, haha

The cable company in my area only lets me get basic cable in my area – no digital, no broadband internet. Apparently I’m not in the coverage area for those things.

Same with my phone company – no DSL.

But the worst of it is when my stupid cable company runs these annoying-as-crap 30-second ads about how they have the fastest internet available. WELL NO YOU DONT. To have the fastest internet available, it has to be AVAILABLE.

I’m thinking I should get reimbursed for every minute I have to spend watching them gloat about their services.

This is specific to India…

So there are 2 parts to this question:

a) Which is the best data card today, in terms of speed and customer service?

b) I stay in a godforsaken area (and I cannot move) in Valley View Estate, Gurgaon and need to connect to the internet. Is there another way apart from data cards? I know that BSNL has telephone connectivity, but don’t think that they provide broadband services, and neither does any other telecom company (to the best of my knowledge). What is the best solution, apart from data cards?

Thanks.

I have a rt-u49c-15+ remote control (shown here: http://www.videotron.com/services/en/service_clientele/telecom-rc.jsp). What button do I press to get my TV to go into a different input channel?

Anytime I try to hit Mode + TV, the TV turns off. If I try using or programming the TV/VCR button, it just turns on captions. I’ve tried using the bypass button, but the moment I touch the TV button, it turns it off. Essentially, no matter what buttons I push, I always get back into Cable mode somehow.

All the telecom operators bet a lot on MMS service, but people are still reluctant to use it as often as SMS, why?

1) Citi Home Rebate Platinum Select Mastercard – No annual fee, 0% APR on balance transfers for 12 months, and No balance transfer fees for initial balance transfer. Purchases are not at 0% for this card, but it does offer 6% cash bank on utilities, cable/satellite TV, internet, and telecom services for 6 months. You could take advantage of these rewards for 6 months (paying in full each month), and then request the 0% balance transfer.

From the Terms and Conditions: “As long as first balance transfer is completed within 12 months from date of account opening, 0.00% for 12 months from date of first balance transfer.”

*I TRANSFER A BALANCE IN JAN. 06–AM I ELIGIBLE OR DOES IT JUST MEAN I CAN ONLY TRANSFER ONE BALANCE W/ THEM?

Is it true that cable is the fastest internet? My friend says it is but when i looked it i came up with this:

There are multiple grades of cable and dsl service.

Cable
usually 10mb/s downstream and 1mb/s upstream (megaBIT/sec)

DSL
varies from 128kb/s to 1mb/s for consumers. Can be symmetrical if you get SDSL. Most consumers get ADSL or some variant.

Cable is faster than DSL for most downloads but YMMV depending on your provider and a host of other factors.

T1- 1.5 mb/s. Very fast. Symmetric. Very expensive unless you are at a university or one of those cool new internet buildings with it built in.

T3- 45 mb/s Very Very Fast. Symmetric. You can’t afford it. A major corporation or your university can afford it.

OC-### – You are the freaking telecom company or a large ISP.

Internet 2 – separate from the internet. You are a physicist or engineer running advanced simulations with huge data sets.

So what is the fastest internet, if it’s not cable then what is?
